Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I thought I'd better get updated with the Christmas events around here before I get busy with a new baby (which is still hanging out in my belly).

We had a huge snow storm on Friday the 19th. Micah had been sick the Thursday and Friday so he missed school but by the time Saturday rolled around he was feeling better. He wanted to go tobogganing on Saturday so we went out to Nelles Park. The snow was very slow since it was powdery. Micah didn't like it all that much as it wasn't fast but it was just Kendra's speed. This was really the first time she has wanted to toboggan. She was having fun even though the snow was up to mid-thigh.













On December 20th we had a formal turkey dinner and pictures over at Jamie's parents house. Jamie's sister, Avril and her boyfriend Wayne came down from Kitchener since they weren't able to have dinner with us Christmas Day.








Somewhere in here Micah also lost his second bottom tooth. He was playing with it so much and he says to me, "my tooth is like a ketchup lid", which it was perpendicular to his other teeth. So he could actually sing the song "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth".

On the 23rd we went to visit with our friends Patti and Chris. Patti has started up her photography business (http://pattimillerphoto.wordpress.com/) and so she was awesome to take some maternity photos for me. I love how they turned out. The one of Kendra kissing my nose is priceless.

We had a great time at Jamie's parents for the holidays. We spent two nights there and it was such a blessing to mostly just visit and not do too much. We went on Christmas Eve for a finger food dinner, Christmas Eve service at their church and then some fellowship with a few of the people from the church. The kids got to open one present after being so well behaved at church. Of course they got the royal treatment with Pompa showing them off in front of the church. It was an interesting service as we watched the end part of "Scrooged" the movie. He warned us of a bad word in the middle and it was hiliarous what Micah did. I don't think he really knows any bad words but all on his own he plugged his ears until I told him it was over.

Christmas Day, Avril and Wayne came over around 8 am and my mom came over about 9 am. We decided not to do stockings this year other than for the kids. That was such a relief as I found it hard to get out shopping being 8 months pregnant. So we got breakfast ready and the kids opened their stockings until my mom got there. Once my mom got there the kids opened their presents all at once and oh the mountain of them. Then the adults opened their gifts until about 12:30. Avie and Wayne had to leave then so we said goodbye and had a little breather and tried to clean up all the mess before dinner. We had done a formal turkey dinner on the Saturday before Christmas so we just did a faster dinner than all the turkey and had a pre-cooked ham, potatoes, a salad and veggies.

















Jamie's dad likes to go Boxing Day shopping on Boxing Day but his partner Avie wasn't able to stay to go shopping. So we stayed overnight again and Jamie could go with him at the early hour of 6 am. A few deals but we ended up getting a new TV for my mom (who's TV is dieing) and we had to set it up for her before going home.

Other than that we have just been hanging out this week. The kids went to Jamie's parents for 2 days and we had my girlfriend and her girls over for New Years Eve yesterday. We had fun but the 3 hour wait for Chinese food was quite a long time. It's a good thing that Jamie was in good spirits to wait the extra 2 hours after the one hour they said it would take.
