Ethan's Dedication - June 7, 2009

We'll it's better late than never, so here it goes.

On June 7, 2009 we had Ethan dedicated to the Lord. This is more an act for us to raise Ethan knowing the ways of the Lord so that he can then decide for himself whether to follow Jesus or not later in life. The dedication involved declaring the Word of the Lord over Ethan's life and a prayer. Ethan's name means "firm and steadfast" so we choose:


1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.







Afterward, we had family and friends over at the house for lunch. We also had my friend Patti Miller (http://www.burlingtonphotographer.ca/) take family photos. We had gotten Jamie's parents a gift certificate for a free photo session on their 40th wedding anniversary but they choose to wait until Ethan was born to use it.
