Christmas

So Christmas was busy time.

We decorated the tree on November 29th. The kids had fun. Ethan loved playing with the gold bead strings and actually he wasn't that bad for being so mobile.

We also did the Santa Clause parade on the first Saturday in December. We brought hot chocolate with us and walked over to Christie and Main Street. Ethan did well. I was afraid he was going to be scared of all the sirens.

We had Jamie's dad's birthday on December 6th and we also did our annual Christmas pictures then. Usually we would do them Christmas Eve but Avie has Wayne's family to fit in at Christmas so it just makes it easier to do them earlier.

We did our gingerbread house but very late this year. The kids really got into it especially now that Kendra knows about patterns.

The kids were in the church Christmas play this year having to go to practices for several weeks on Sunday afternoons. They did a few songs on Sunday December 20th morning. It was very cute.

We had Christmas with Dad and Laura on the 22nd. We had dinner and then opened presents. Micah got a Nintendo DSi complete with a few games, Kendra got a complete Cinderella dress, crown, and every the glass (plastic) slippers. We had glitter all over the house for a few days but both them loved their presents. We got a Wii fit balance board.

So Micah had the Dsi to play for a few days and Kendra really wanted one too. It was just too cute but Kendra had taken some cardboard from the DSi box and made her own. It was just priceless when I heard her call it the "DSk" and of course the "k" would be for Kendra. She didn't have to wait long until she got her own.

Christmas Eve we went to Jamie's parents for finger food dinner as tradition and then off to Christmas Eve service. We had a surprise as we had decided to but out presents (other than to the kids) this year. Jamie's parents gave us money even though they weren't suppose too. The kids performed a couple of their songs from church (Gammie and Pompa couldn't come watch them). They had fun and didn't seem nervous at all. Ethan did very well considering the service was later than his bed time.

Christmas Day was a change for us. We had most of the morning to ourselves. We opened our presents. Jamie got me a Cannon 7D camera body. Nice gift. Out of comparison with my little "Tap" Wii game. Jamie seemed to enough the new game though. The kids didn't really get anything from us as we are going to Disney in February.

Later in the morning we had brunch at Grandma's home (Albright in Beamsville). Mom came with her students so there was 10 of us. Mom made fruit, eggs and bacon and I brought the crescent rolls. Yummy!!!

Then everyone came over to our house for around 4 pm for dinner. It was a big whirlwind for me. I had to get the turkey ready so I totally missed the kids opening their presents. So it's a little vague what everyone got but I know that Kendra got her DSi. Both of them got lots of accessories from Auntie, their Walt Disney World tickets from Grandma and RESP money from Great grandma. Ethan got some macaras and a phone from Auntie, an outfit from grandma, RESP money from Gammie and Pompa and Great grandma.
