Florida - May 2nd

Today we went to the pool in the morning again and Brianna and Patti joined us again. The kids had a bath afterwards. Kendra was kind of cranky so we just hung out the rest of the morning having an early lunch. Micah enjoyed playing his version of some of the games here, watching TV, while Jamie worked on the comic puzzle that was here.

While Kendra was napping and the boys were doing their own thing I took a walk to the beach and collect some shells (the famous Sanibel stoop as they call it). It was nice just to walk without the kids running around everywhere. I got some really nice pictures too.

Later in the afternoon we took the cars and toured around the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. It was $5 to take the car though and we did stop a few times along the way to look out. The one stop showed the mangrove forest with these crabs that walk on the branches near the water. There was also a look out over the bay and there were some fish that just jumped out of the water. Jamie said they were trying to catch bugs. We had wanted to see the 12 ft crocodile that lives on the refuge but we didn’t see her.

After we got back from the refuge we had dinner at Chris and Patti’s. We all had shrimp but Jamie had ribs since he doesn’t like the seafood. We had the rest of the awesome key lime pie from yesterday and some ice cream. Kendra was cranky so she was in bed by 7 and Micah got to bed around 7:40 pm after his stalling tactics in going to bed.

The boys did some geocaching just at sunset. They found the cache and also some folks from New Hampshire that were searching for the same cache. They then played some more of their games for the night.
